As some of our members might be aware MSC submitted an application for a licence for the new 2020 NPL Junior Boys competition. It is my privilege to be able to announce that we have been successful with our application and have been granted a licence for this new competition.
A thorough assessment was made by Football Victoria across a number of stringent criteria. For Mornington to have exceeded all these measures; is a testament to the hard work the committee have put in over the last 2-3 years to make us ready for NPL football.
This licence allows us to field NPL Junior Boys teams at under 13, under 14, under 15 and under 16 age groups as well as continuing to run sub-junior and junior community teams without constraints; which was an important factor in our decision to apply for an NPL licence. Whilst the NPL platform is designed as an elite player pathway; some of our most vibrant and skillful football is played across our community teams and as a club we wanted to make certain we continued to offer this community pathway for players of all abilities to enjoy.
I have no doubt that players, parents and coaches will have a number of questions relating to this NPL licence and what it means for next season & beyond. The committee will be meeting this week to organise an ‘Information Evening’ which will be held at the club in the next few weeks, where we will answer questions and provide more detail. This will be announced on our website and through our Facebook page.

This is a hugely exciting time for the club and continues to position Mornington Soccer Club as the leading club on the Peninsula. I would like to thank Football Victoria and congratulate the other successful applicants.
