The funeral for Tony McKay will be held Tuesday 24th March.
After speaking with the Tony’s Daughters over the past few days, unfortunately due to the times we are facing with the Co-Vid 19 virus, there have been forced restrictions placed on the number of people that can attend the service.
In light of this, the family have unfortunately had to select only 50 people allowed to attend the funeral service and they will be contacting them directly with an invitation.
To say this has been one of the hardest things for them to do is an understatement and at this time, is another stress that they just didn’t need. They have asked that we publicly advise people, that may have been planning to attend the funeral that only those with a personal invitation can do so and send their sincerest apologies to those who they know would have wanted to attend but will not be able to.
We ask that at this tough time the families decisions are respected and we would also ask to please understand how hard this has been for them to narrow down what would have been well over 200 people in attendance to just 50.
The club would also like to advise that due to the current climate the wake will also be put on hold until we can honor Tony with the proper memorial he deserves. We appreciate that in this tough time some people will be upset by this message but hope that when the time is right – we can all get together to celebrate such a great man.
Rest in Peace Tony, you will never be forgotten!!
